It is no secret that Annie's favorite sci-fi movie is Star Wars: Episode IV, A New Hope. She decided to be Princess Leia for Halloween. A straightforward costume, although we found it difficult to find her a blaster.
Annie got into her character on the day we did the photoshoot. We watched the movie so she could study Princess Leia's mannerisms a bit.
Annie kept saying, "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope."
Last Sunday at 3am, we finally took out Annie’s telescope. She put on her silver jacket and the beanie that our friend Courtney made. The scope came with a map of the moon. Annie carefully planned out the areas she wanted to look at.
She was so happy to finally get to see the moon up close. It makes me smile just watching her get excited. Annie has such a love for astronomy. Many years ago, I used to study the solar system. I think this is where she takes on that interest.
